multi-task-woman

I'm a Wife, Mother of two little children, Counselor, Speaker, Life Coach, and…Doctoral Candidate.

If I don't rely on God 24/7, I feel like I've lost all power because ALL power comes from God.

My days are crazy, hectic, nonstop, fast-paced, and at times I feel as if I'm on overdrive!  Many think I'm downright delirious for stacking my plate so high. Maybe I am…I don't deny it! I know that God has placed these dreams on my heart.  The problem is that as soon as I take my eyes off of Jesus, I become a wreck! My 3-year-old son becomes a pest in my eyes, cleaning my home becomes a burden, and the 24 hours that are given each day, don't seem adequate. I wonder if I can talk to God about giving me 26 hours a day sometimes. Hmmm…LOL. I run at 4:30 in the morning, get my son ready for school, read my Bible and pray at Starbucks and head off to work. Some think I've already had a full day! The weird thing, is that I love my plate…it's full, but full of life. The key for me and ALL of us is to learn to trust in God, rely on HIS strength and not our own, and be humble enough to ask others to help us.

We were created to be great, to be powerful, full of life, and ALL loving. Come to Jesus with your burdens…even if your burden is folding laundry, wiping a snotty nose, studying for an exam, or leading a board meeting…lay it at the foot of the Cross. So what does that mean? You always hear people say, "trust in God," "give it to God," "lay your burdens down…" How?  What does that look like? If you're like me, I need examples, not cliché sayings.

Matthew 11:28  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

First, I start by talking to myself…yes, talking to myself! Ain't nothin' wrong with that! Many of us don’t even know what we want, or how we feel because we don’t talk to ourselves. I begin to ask myself, “Do I believe in Jesus.” Honestly sometimes I do, and sometimes I don’t. I don’t because I want to see circumstances going MY way, and when they don’t, I assume that somehow Jesus has lost His power. Is this biblical teaching Keita? No. What is the truth…That God loves me and wants to give me only things that are good for me, even if I don’t understand what God’s “good” looks like.  I remember that Jesus died and rose from the dead and that I have that same power inside of me, working for my benefit and the benefit of others. I finally remember that God has the power to see me through any situation that I face.

Whew! It's important to take time to remember how powerful and perfect God is.

Second, I read God's word often. The more I read his promises, the more My faith increases and my trust grows in Him.
